My first use of a mechanized facial cleaner of any sort was this avon solutions power vibes facial cleaner.
Although this isn’t a brush, it uses the same principle of operation.
Applying mechanical force to the skin to exfoliate and loosen the cells by breaking down the bonds between them causing them to fall off and in the process letting go of trapped dirt and oil and bacteria.
They also stimulate collagen production thus reducing signs of aging.
Before this, there have been facial sponges as the likes from ole henricksen. The sponge is available for sale at 1200 for a pack of 2.
with which you apply force with your hands.
Facial brushes made from goat hair or synthetic fibre used for body brushing cellulite and face washing.
The clarisonic is deemed the world’s standard by users in this category of product and although there are newer more innovative products like the phillips and the magnitone pulsar, everyone still goes on about the clarisonic.
The neutrogena waveform cleanser is similar to this.both use cleansing pads.
The avon power vibes is like a mechanized sponge.
It has pads which are replaced per use.
They are stuck on to the device by a velcro pad which comes with each can of pads.
A new device comes with 25pads.
It goes for N4000 normal avon catalogue price but with shipping costs, it comes to about N4500 in a combined order.
Quite cheap for the benefits that accrues thereof.
The device is green and white with a battery compartment on the bottom which allows use of one small AAA battery and is covered with a coin.
It is said to be waterproof but I disagree.
It has to be protected from water.
I don’t know how long this device ought to last but mine did approximately two months and I forgot it on a bathroom sink where the kids must’ve spilled water afterwards because on return from my trip the device I’d used for 2weeks while away was nonfunctional.
In the time I used it, I noticed I didn’t break out.
I ensured I didn’t use any acne treatment products in those two weeks.
I was however using baby tribotan soap.
I don’t know if that was contributory because it contains a mild natural antiseptic.
However killing bacteria alone is not enough to prevent acne.
My skin was cleaner, glowed and I had no doubt of it’s usefulness ..
The only problem I had with this device is the excessive lather on the pads.
Those things pack a bunch of bubbles!
But someone else might find it useful.
I actually rinsed off a pad or two and re-used it because of that or turned the opposite end and reused it.
My verdict on this product is 4/5
1mark taken away because it needs to be developed such that water doesn’t easily ruin a cheap and useful product.
LOL, I said cheap right ?
Who says cheap can’t last.
I’m celebrating 101 posts today and 5000 plus views.
Today is also my birthday.
I’m grateful to everyone who’s stopped by this blog.
The statistics keep me believing that somehow I’m helping someone out there with information and doing what I love.
I’ll be reducing my post frequency over the next 6months to concentrate on a few emergent life issues.
Please bear with me.
Thanks.
Love you all.
